Found in the lower lias, Barrow-upon-Soar, in 1851. This prehistoric marine reptile was common in Leicestershire 150 million years ago. The fossil remains are exhibited in Leicester Museum, and a replica makes a unique village sign on the traffic island, known as `jerusalem', at the junction of Bridge Street, High Street and South Street.
