The Post Office was purpose built in the mid 1960s to replace the Post Office that was in the premises that is now Barrow of Treats. It was very tiny and would have found it difficult to cope with the number of customers that use the current post office. Inside the new Post Office it has hardly changed since the 1960s.
Mr Groom, next door used to be an insurance brokers, a service provided by the Wartburg at Sileby. It also used to be a shoe shop but only for a short period.
Can you remember whether there have been any other types of shop here?
