Discovering the history of Barrow Upon Soar......

Toc H

Toc H is an organisation founded just after the first world war in 1920. The abbreviation is for Talbot House, which was a soldiers' rest and recreation centre, founded in December 1915 at Poperinghe in Belgium. Barrow had a Toc H branch located on North Street in a building near Perkins Yard.

This photo was taken in 1962 of the Barrow upon Soar Toc H Group.

The five adults on the front row are (left to right): Trevor Allen, Marion Godwin, Jean Wright, Eileen Holmes, Michael Godwin.
