Thomas Bradshaw d 1848 \ Rose Bradshaw d 1846
The Wall Tablet consists of a rectangular, inscripted panel supported by two bracket feet which are decorated in high relief with oak leaves and an acorn. The panel is surmounted by a stepped cornice with high relief decorated scrolled leaves and a central, fluted fan. The panel is set on a black slate ground of rectangular shape with a pointed crown and inset sections in the sides and base, creating extended corners. The inscription is written in Roman lettering in Upper Capitals.
Black slate ground. Inscription tablet is made in either white limestone or marble.

Thomas Bradshaw was a Farmer/Grazier and was one of the principal landed proprietors in Barrow (ref a). He also owned the ‘Petrified Shark’ which was excavated in the village (ref b). Thomas Bradshaw son of John and Elizabeth was baptised 18th March 1765 (approx 18 months old). He had siblings John, Elizabeth and William. Thomas was married to Rose Beaumont on 5th October 1796 by licence. Rose Beaumont daughter of Thomas and Mary was baptised May 30th 1777. She had a sister Sally Thomas (Farmer ) and Rose had children : Elizabeth baptised 22nd Feb 1799 (ref c & d) Thomas and William Bradshaw, South Street Farm Owners (ref e)
