Discovering the history of Barrow Upon Soar......

The Archaeology of Barrow upon Soar

This project sets out to follow the archaeological history of Barrow upon Soar over the past 800,000 years as evidenced by the artefacts that have been found and recorded.

On July 5th 2008, the Barrow Field Walkers ( a branch of Barrow Heritage Group) held an exhibition of artefacts all of which have been found in the Barrow area. It is believed to be the first time that most have been on display in Barrow.

At the same event, the group's new booklet "The Archaeology of Barrow upon Soar" was available for people to pick up free. The booklet is available as a printable pdf below.

Photographs of the artefacts appear below with a brief description of their origins.
